The shed cost £134.00
In 1875 the new Lifeboat "The John Lockett" arrived at St Peter Port. A gift of Mrs and Misses Lockett of Liverpool.
It was drawn on it's trailer by eight horses and paraded around St Peter Port stopping at Capt. P de Sausmarez's house en route.
It was initially stationed at Les Landes Point, Vale. This was found to be to remote and it was moved to the life boat shed at the Northside , Vale. It remained here until 1881 when it was decided to operate the Life-boat from St Peter Port.
In 2003 for the bicentenary the R.N.L.I re-enacted the original picture with the "Queen Victoria" and the then, present day crew. In the back ground is the Old lifeboat station. The Home of French Accents, Some of the original features still remain to this day.
